The BMZ digilab together with the division Z10 is warmly inviting you to its Brown Bag Lunch on 02 November 2022, 12.00 – 13.00 CET, where we want to discuss with experts about
„Scaling Digital Innovations in Development Cooperation: Why and How?“
Digital innovations are not only important, but a must for tackling the challenges of development especially in times of multiple global crises and their increased impact on us and our partner countries. Punctual, local digital innovations are often just solving small aspects of large challenges and are difficult to reach the needed disruptive impact. In development cooperation we are looking for digital innovations that can be scaled because scalability is a precondition for a lasting impact of innovations. Experience shows that scaling seems to be working better when innovative minds come together and think in large missions, work in cross-sector partnerships and when projects are designed for scale right in the beginning.
What are digital innovations in development cooperation?
We therefore want to ask questions: What are digital innovations in development cooperation? What opportunities and challenges do we see with scaling, especially when it comes to scaling digital innovation in development cooperation? When does scaling make sense, is it necessary and what are the requirements?
- Jan Schröder (minds&makers), founder of a design thinking and service design agency
- Arlett Stojanovic (GIZ), head of the innovation, learning, knowledge competence centre
- Piet Kleffmann (KfW), expert for digital innovations
- Aparajita Ramakrishnan (Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation), head of donor and government partnerships will join us for a discussion.
If you are part of one of digilab’s partner organisations (BMZ, GIZ, BMGF or KfW) write us on firstname.lastname@example.org to get the link to our event.
