Race of the Systems: Opportunities and Challenges for a Fair Digital Policy in DC

The BMZ invites representatives from academia and civil society to the workshop “Race of the Systems – Opportunities and Challenges for a Fair Digital Policy in DC” to engage in an interactive exchange. This will take place virtually on Wednesday, 23.11.2022 from 14:00-16:00.

Introduced by keynote speeches by Mr. Sven Hilbig (Trade Policy and Digitalization Officer, Bread for the World) and Geraldine de Bastion (Co-founder and Managing Director Konnektiv, Founder “Global Innovation Gathering” (GIG)), the discussion will focus on:

  •  What goals should German digital policy pursue internationally with a focus on the Global South (and what values does it stand for)?
  • What are the advantages of human-centered European digital policy, where are commonalities and opportunities for cooperation with other actors?
  • What opportunities and challenges arise from a (socio-ecological and) feminist digital policy in development cooperation?

We look forward to discussing together, learning from each other and collaboratively developing ideas for a fair digital policy and its implementation.

Warm regards,

Your digilab team
